The cottage is within easy reach of a range of things to see and do in north Cornwall. Local food can be found at numerous places nearby, from supermarkets to local deli's and farm shops.
The beach is a 5 minute drive, or a 35 minute away via a footpath through the valley, and has a great beach shop, restaurants and pubs. They provide a few essential items as well as home-made lunch time meals, ice creams, proper coffee and a few luxury treats, alongside beach essentials including surf board hire and wetsuits.
The area has a number of diverse restaurants and pubs, catering to a range of tastes and budgets in the local villages of St Merryn, Mawgan Porth, Padstow and Watergate Bay.
There are also a range of activities to do in the area including horse riding, surfing lessons, coasteering, sailing, kayaking, and sea safari's.
The cottage is located close to Bedruthan Steps, the Camel Trail and a kids animal farm. If you want to go further afield there is the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Trust properties (Lanhydrock Estate), Port Isaac and Tintagel Castle.

Whether it’s somewhere local or a bit further afield, from classic english pubs to cool places to eat on the beach, fish and chips or that really special place to go to for a treat.
Activities and shopping around the 7 bays
Cornwall’s beaches and headlands are stunning, however north Cornwall also has so much more to offer. From water parks, golf, go-karting, horse riding to shopping, and National Trust houses, there is something for everyone.
Mawgan Porth, together with Watergate Bay, and the 7 bays west of Padstow are not only known for providing the quintessential stunning English beach coves with sand, cliffs, and surf, but they are also a dog owners paradise.
The Padstow 'Obby 'Oss is an ancient festival believed to be one of the oldest surviving festivals in the UK. It always takes place on May day, the first Monday of May. The event attracts thousands of people every year.
